From Octave

Like the Super Black Box, the Black Box adds storage capacitance to an amplifier's internal power supply, stabilizing it against mains fluctuations and suppressing low-frequency network interference. The added capacity lets the connected amplifier handle loudspeakers with minimum impedances down to 2 ohms without losing control.

It works with the V 40 (SE), V 50, V 70 (SE), V 70 Class A, V 80 (SE), V 110 (SE), and V 16 Single Ended all-in-one amplifiers, as well as the RE 280 MK2, RE 290, RE 320, MRE 130, and MRE 220 (SE) power amplifiers.

The Black Box connects through a dedicated high-current connector with a 1 meter cable and has its own housing separate from the amplifier. Discharge electronics clear the stored charge within 2 seconds of powering down.
