Black Box Preamp

The Black Box Preamp extends the same power supply concept Octave built for its amplifiers into the phono stage, where signal voltages coming off a cartridge are especially low and sensitive to noise. Increasing the Phono Module's power supply capacity by a factor of 6 raises current flow and makes the supply more resistant to mains fluctuations, with low-frequency grid disturbances suppressed at the source.

The upgrade connects to the Phono Module through a dedicated high-current connector and runs through Octave's standard protection management system. Discharge electronics clear stored charge within 2 seconds of shutdown.
