IN1 and IN2 cover phono duty directly: IN1 is an MM input switchable between 47k and 1k ohm impedance, and IN2 is an MC input with two gain levels and impedance adjustable from 62 to 1,000 ohms. IN3 does the same MC job over a balanced XLR connection, with impedance adjustable across the same range.

IN6 and IN7 use step-up transformers instead of electronic gain for MC cartridges. IN6 switches its transfer factor between 15 and 30 to suit low-output or moderate-output MC systems, while IN7 has a balanced input with a fixed 1:20 transfer factor, useful when the cable run to the phono input is long or noise rejection matters most.

IN4 covers line-level connections, switchable between XLR and RCA. IN8 and IN9 add transformer-coupled line inputs, XLR and RCA respectively, both with a switchable ground connection, designed as the link between modern DACs or digital sources and the preamplifier.
