The Super Black Box adds bulk storage capacitance to an Octave amplifier's power supply, stabilizing current delivery and reducing how much the amplifier's behavior shifts with the load. That matters most with difficult-to-drive speakers: the added capacitance lets the amplifier handle loudspeakers with minimum impedances as low as 2 ohms.
It's compatible with the V 40 (SE), V 70 (SE), V 70 Class A, V 80 (SE), V 110 (SE), and V 16 Single Ended all-in-one amplifiers, plus the RE 290, RE 320, and MRE 220 (SE) power amplifiers. Older models, including the V 50, V 50 MKII, RE 280, RE 280 MKII, MRE 120, and MRE 130, aren't compatible with the Super Black Box.
The unit ships with a 1 meter connecting cable, with longer lengths available on request, and includes discharge electronics that bleed off stored charge within 2 seconds after power down.
