From Octave

Two 6550 JJ power pentodes per channel produce 40W RMS (50W at 4 ohms) from the V 40 SE, with the BIAS control system allowing other pin-compatible output tubes. The single impedance output transformer keeps the amplifier stable down to a 2 ohm load, unaffected by the swings in impedance that real loudspeakers present.

Five RCA inputs include one wired for home theater bypass, feeding a record output, a regulated preamp output, and speaker terminals. Gain runs at 38dB, with a signal-to-noise ratio of -100dB at 40W.

Eco Mode, a full metal remote for volume control, a BIAS display, and soft-start protection carry over from the rest of the V-series. A connection for the Black Box or Super Black Box power supply extension is included for pairing with more demanding speakers.
