From HiFi Rose
RD160 is a D/A converter built around paired AKM AK4191 and AK4499EX chips. It uses three custom power supplies, OCXO clocking, solid aluminum construction, and filter/upsampling controls for systems that need a dedicated digital source hub.

| StereophileApr. 2026 | "The RD160 employs the AKM two-chip approach — pairing the AK4191EQ delta-sigma modulator with the AK4499EXEQ DAC — which has the benefit of moving most digital processing off the converter chip, keeping high-frequency noise away from the analog side. HiFi Rose puts even more emphasis on isolation, employing three independent power supplies and an SFP fiber input for total electrical isolation of the USB signal." Read More → |
