Accuphase E-3000 integrated amplifier in champagne gold, VU meters lit

Accuphase began in 1972 in Tokyo as Kensonic Laboratory and moved to Yokohama in 1973, where it still designs and builds everything it sells. The lineup covers preamplifiers, Class-A and Class-AB power amplifiers, SA-CD players, FM tuners, and the DG series of digital voicing equalizers. The look hasn't changed much: champagne-gold faceplates and big power meters. Neither has the mission. You get quiet backgrounds, exact tonal balance, and a company that's known for servicing components decades after they leave the factory.
