Audio Physic

Joachim Gerhard started Audio Physic in 1985, modifying speakers in his kitchen. The company now builds from a multi-building factory in Brilon, in Germany's Sauerland region. The motto hasn't changed in 40 years: no loss of fine detail. Designer Manfred Diestertich, aboard since 1999, decouples drivers from cabinets, damps key areas with ceramic foam, and builds some models with glass panels over elastic damping layers. Custom drivers come from tooling Audio Physic owns. The payoff is precision imaging: close your eyes and the speakers disappear.
