Electrocompaniet dates to 1973, when Dr. Matti Otala's research on transient intermodulation distortion inspired a 25-watt Norwegian amplifier that built the company's reputation. Norway's oldest hi-fi manufacturer still machines and assembles its components on the country's west coast. Bruce Swedien mixed Michael Jackson records through Electrocompaniet amps and put the company in the album credits. The catalog spans Classic Line amplifiers and streamers plus the wireless EC Living range. Black acrylic, gold buttons, no drama. It's a sound built on 50 years of distortion research.
