Ø Audio builds its loudspeakers by hand in Lier, Norway, and its first model, the Icon, picked up product of the year awards. The recipe is Norwegian throughout: hand-coated paper cones from driver maker SEAS, first-order crossovers with resin-potted copper foil capacitors, and a 2-stage decoupling system that rests each cabinet on tungsten balls. The new Ymir flagship is a 2-way that weighs 120 kg. That's the philosophy in one fact: overbuild anything that improves the sound. The payoff is scale and speed without strain.
