Morris Kessler co-founded SAE in his Los Angeles apartment in 1967, and Stereophile's J. Gordon Holt soon called its 60-watt Mark 2 amplifier a legitimate rival to the Marantz Model 9. SAE went on to claim the first graphic equalizer, the first digital-readout tuner, and the first pop-and-click filter for vinyl. Today the brand builds ultra-high-resolution amplifiers in the US, including the 2HP, which delivers 748 watts per channel from a fully differential design. They're big, unapologetic American amplifiers. Your speakers will notice.
