From Technics

The SL-1000RE-S pairs the SP-10RE-S motor unit with a Reference Class turntable system. Its coreless direct drive motor works with a heavyweight, tungsten-weighted platter and a separate control unit to reduce unwanted vibration and noise. The high-sensitivity tonearm is designed for accurate groove tracing, and the deck supports 33 1/3, 45, and 78 rpm records.
