Focal has made drivers and loudspeakers in Saint-Étienne, France since 1979, when engineer and audio journalist Jacques Mahul set up shop there. The company still manufactures its signature parts in France using pure beryllium inverted-dome tweeters, W composite cones, and woven flax membranes, with cabinets built in Bourbon-Lancy. The French state lists Focal as a Living Heritage Enterprise. The range runs from bookshelf speakers and headphones to the flagship Utopia line, plus studio/pro audio gear. It's a fast, detailed house sound. You'll know a Focal tweeter when you hear one.
